Global Artists

Global artists

Harambee can draw on a wide network of educational artists from around the world to bring a flavour of their culture into the classroom. Using a blend of traditional and modern methods, storytellers, musicians, dancers and visual artists will place their work in a global context.

Recent Harambee global artists include:

  •  Ricardo Arbelaez is a visual artist from the Latin American country of Columbia. Ricardo talks about his experience of South America and has an interactive presentation covering its artistic tradition. Participants then translate these experiences into art, making sculptures and compositions.
  • Daniella McDermott is a percussionist who works with ethnic drums and percussion instruments from Brazil, Cuba and West Africa.
